Happy Birthday to Me; Happy Birthday to Brie!

This is me reading with sis.

I just love my family! They all dote on me and think I'm so much fun. :) When I "talk" to them, they laugh. When I try to sit on my own, or try to crawl, they cheer me on. Anytime I do something new, it's picture time. It's wonderful to be so loved!

I don't know what I was thinking here. They always catch me with the strangest expressions.

Oh, yes. I should tell you of my new talents, shouldn't I? I have discovered that it's much nicer to chew on tags (you know, those little cloth teethers hanging onto blankets, and other stuff), then all the other teethers with which my family tries to entice me.

Tags are the best! They even taste good. Yum. Some of those toy companies should hire babies as their design consultants. I think they design most toys for the delight of the parents. After all, that's who they have to sell to...not the babies. :)

I love to read books...don't you?!

Wow, that book got heavy. Time for a rest...zzzzz

My very own crinkley teether book. But wait- no tags on it?! Oh, well. Where's my blanket? At least it has a tag on it...

What else am I doing these days? I can now hold my head up for long stretches of time while on my tummy, grab at the food on mommy's plate (carrot sticks, and celery sticks are yummy to suck on!), and grab the avocado off the baby spoon with my hand. :) It's so much more fun to feel it in my hand before I eat it, because I must make sure it's good enough to stick in my mouth.

I'm also teaching myself to type when I sit on Brittany's lap. She does some of her schoolwork at her computer, so she sits me on her lap in front of the laptop and I pat the keys with both hands while she studies. So far I haven't been very successful in my typing, but I'm sure I will improve soon with all the practice I've had!

giggle...This is a fun toy. A baby must have invented it. It's my wind-up frog that really jumps! I love to hold him captive, though, and drool all over him. He kicks me with his little green legs, but he can't get away from me!

Do you like frog legs, too?

What did I do for my birthday? Glad you asked! Actually, on my birthday, I was very sleepy, so I spent most of it in my little pink bed. :) But lest you think that my family forgot my special day, I'll tell you what we did...

In honor of the occasion, they made dessert. And I even had candles. Aren't the flames beautiful?! I even had a pink paper crown that said, "Birthday Princess".

One last thing...

Some of you may have heard about this mysterious "rash" I've had for a while. Mommy and Daddy tried lots of different things to try to make it better, but nothing made it go away. We discovered that it is poison ivy. Now that they know what it is, they can correctly treat it, and I'm getting better. How did I get poison ivy? We think I got it from Jordan or Daddy after they were mowing our property. They didn't get very much of a rash, but I sure did. It's bad stuff! I'm so glad it's going away now. :)
